Airtel Africa reported a pre-tax profit of $661 million for the full year ending March 31, 2025, reversing a pre-tax loss of $63 million in the previous fiscal year. Meanwhile, Safaricom posted an 11.2% revenue increase to KSh 388.7 billion (over $3 billion) for the same period, driven in part by its expansion into Ethiopia. The company’s earnings rose 10.8% to KSh 69.8 billion, surpassing analysts' expectations. However, Safaricom Ethiopia recorded a net loss of KSh 49.77 billion despite doubling its customer base. M-Pesa revenue also increased to KSh 161.1 billion. Safaricom plans to distribute dividends totaling KSh 48.08 billion to shareholders.
