MrBeast launched a livestream campaign aiming to raise $5 million for his Team Water initiative focused on providing clean water to Africa. The campaign quickly gained traction, with a Solana-based token called $MRBEAST created to donate its royalties to the cause. The token, associated with Finnbags, CEO of the Solana memecoin launchpad BagsApp, reached a market capitalization of around $7 million within an hour and traded $31 million in volume. Finnbags donated over $1 million to the campaign and appeared on the livestream alongside MrBeast and other personalities such as XQC and Adin Ross. Despite the token's rapid rise to a $7.5 million market cap, it was noted that MrBeast did not mention the token during the stream. The livestream ultimately set a world record by raising $12 million for charity in 17 hours, including a $1 million donation from Sophie Rain. Concurrently, in the Solana ecosystem, Pumpdotfun has emerged as the dominant launchpad, controlling 88% of trading volume and 84.6% of new token creations, far surpassing competitors like BagsApp and Bonk Fun. The overall launchpad activity remains high but with a low graduation rate of about 1.14% across 29,100 coins launched.
