African mobility platform Moove is in advanced talks to raise about $1.2 billion in debt, according to people familiar with the matter. The funding would mark one of the largest private-credit deals for an African-founded startup. Proceeds are expected to finance a fleet of autonomous vehicles supplied by Alphabet’s Waymo and to support Moove’s planned expansion across major U.S. cities. The Lagos-born company, which counts Uber Technologies as a backer, aims to integrate self-driving cars into its ride-hailing network as part of its growth strategy.
