Visa, the world’s second-largest card payment firm, announced a strategic investment in four African startups as part of its $1 billion commitment to expanding financial inclusion across the continent. Additionally, Visa has partnered with fintech firm Affirm to launch a new card in the U.S. that allows users to make both debit transactions and buy-now, pay-later purchases. This move caters to the growing demand for flexible payment options. Visa also introduced its Flexible Credential program globally, transforming the card for a digital future and recognizing creators as small businesses.
