Yagnesh Devani, the principal suspect in the Ksh.7.6 billion Triton Oil scandal, has been arrested in Nairobi by officers from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC). Devani, who had been on the run for 16 years, was apprehended at his offices and is currently in custody at the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court. He is set to be charged afresh over the 2008 scandal involving his company, Triton Petroleum. Devani was extradited to Kenya earlier this year. The court has ordered that he be detained at Kilimani Police Station until August 7 while prosecutors prepare fresh charges.
