The API is designed to provide developers with access to AI models capable of understanding and generating text for tasks such as answering questions and analyzing data. The API uses protocols like gRPC for optimized performance, particularly for streaming. Grok-beta, the current version available, is priced at $5 per million input tokens or $15 per million output tokens. This release follows xAI's promise in August to make Grok available via an API.
