OpenAI has acquired 'chat.com', one of the internet's oldest domains, to enhance accessibility to its AI chatbot, ChatGPT. The domain was previously owned by HubSpot CTO Dharmesh Shah, who reportedly purchased it last year for $15.5 million. Shah gave a cryptic prompt to figure out the sale price to OpenAI, hinting at a profitable transaction. The acquisition aims to simplify access by redirecting 'chat.com' directly to ChatGPT's website. The move underscores OpenAI's efforts, under CEO Sam Altman, to expand ChatGPT's reach and secure prime digital real estate in the AI era.

I honestly get a lot of value out of ChatGPT. It feels built for people like me. I find identifying and correcting its mistakes pretty easy because I'm used to grading student assignments, but I also do things that minimize mistakes like:
chatgpt is the mvp... opening a browser tab to talk to AI is just the beginning. the real transformation will come from seamless agentic systems. most people don’t yet see it, but soon they’ll have AI colleagues - working alongside them, as naturally as any other team member.
