OpenAI has announced the launch of its Sora video generation tool in the European Union and the United Kingdom, following its initial release in the United States in December. The company plans to integrate Sora into its ChatGPT platform, allowing users to generate cinematic clips. Rohan Sahai, the product lead for Sora, indicated that while the integration into ChatGPT is planned, it may not provide the same level of control as the standalone web application. This move is seen as a strategy to encourage users to consider upgrading to ChatGPT’s premium offerings.
