Oracle Corp. has laid off employees in its cloud infrastructure division as it redirects resources toward artificial-intelligence projects. The company did not disclose the number of positions eliminated or the size of the reallocation but said the changes are part of an effort to expand AI-related offerings and meet rising customer demand for generative-AI services. The move underscores how large technology vendors are shifting investment priorities, trimming traditional operations to fund higher-growth AI initiatives. Oracle’s cost savings and redeployment of talent are expected to bolster its cloud platform, which competes with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
