Meta has announced the launch of the Meta Quest Lifestyle App Accelerator, a six-month initiative designed to support developers in creating mixed reality (MR) applications for everyday activities. The program aims to provide resources, funding, and support to help developers build groundbreaking apps in areas such as music, art, cooking, beauty, fashion, and more. Applications for the accelerator are open until October 15, 2024. The initiative was announced by Anand Dass at AWE2024 and involves partnerships with leading venture capital firms including a16z, BoostVC, Anorak Ventures, BITKRAFT VC, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. The accelerator also encourages the integration of handtracking and AI technologies in the development of these lifestyle applications.
