On August 22, 2025, air traffic controllers across Argentina initiated a nationwide strike, leading to widespread disruptions in flight operations. The government rejected the strike and issued guidelines to help passengers manage the resulting difficulties. Aerolíneas Argentinas reported that over 10,500 passengers were affected, necessitating modifications to more than 100 flights, including the rescheduling of over 40 flights and the cancellation of 28. The airline also accused the controllers' union of preventing the departure of nine flights scheduled outside the strike hours. LATAM Airlines similarly announced delays and extensions for its flights. Despite these operational challenges, Aerolíneas Argentinas recently reported its first profits in 15 years.
