Argentina has made its case in New York regarding the YPF expropriation, as the government, through the Treasury Attorney's Office, pledged to cooperate with U.S. authorities in the investigation. However, it maintains that U.S. courts are not the appropriate venue for this matter. An NGO, Republic Action for Argentina, has called for the dismissal of the case, alleging that part of the expropriated shares were acquired through corruption. Additionally, Argentina has requested Judge Preska to investigate the nationalization of the oil company, following a ruling that condemned the country to pay USD 16 billion.
