The recent arrest of social media influencer Bobby Kataria has unveiled a significant human trafficking and job scam operation. Kataria, who promised lucrative jobs abroad, deceived many individuals, including Arun Kumar, who paid Rs. 1 lakh for a non-existent job and ended up trapped in a fraudulent company in Laos. The scam involved 150 Indians forced into cyber fraud activities in Laos. Complaints from nine to ten individuals at Bashghera police station in Gurugram highlighted similar experiences of being promised jobs in one country but being sent to another. In a related crackdown, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested four key accused from Delhi, including Manjoor Alam alias Guddu, in connection with the human trafficking and cyber fraud case involving Laos and other Southeast Asian countries.
