The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced a new SAARC currency swap framework for the period 2024 to 2027. Under this framework, the RBI will continue to offer swap arrangements in US dollars and euros, with an overall corpus of $2 billion. The currency swap facility will be available to all SAARC member countries, subject to their signing bilateral swap agreements with the RBI. This initiative aims to support exchange rates and facilitate national currency use among SAARC nations through bilateral swap agreements.
