A school bus carrying students rolled onto its side on the Hamilton Highway at Stonehaven, about 12 kilometres west of Geelong, shortly after 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday. Victoria Police confirmed that a female student died at the scene and several other children sustained serious injuries. Emergency services said some students were initially trapped inside the vehicle, which later caught fire, but all were eventually freed. Ambulance Victoria treated the injured on site before transporting them to nearby hospitals. The exact number of casualties has not been released.
