A large great white shark, estimated to be between 10 and 12 feet long, has been spotted near popular beaches along the coast of Maine, including the area off the south tip of Richmond Island and Scarborough. The sightings were captured in drone footage that has circulated widely, prompting local police to issue warnings to beachgoers for public safety. Marine biologists have also reported multiple great white shark sightings in the nearby Cape Cod Bay, where six sharks were tagged following recent observations. Officials emphasize the need for situational awareness as these sharks are rarely seen in these coastal waters.
