Nearly 24 years after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, New York City officials have identified three additional victims. The remains, which were among the wreckage recovered from the site, were identified through advanced DNA testing techniques that have improved over the years. These identifications bring the total number of victims identified to 1,653. The announcement was made by New York City Mayor Eric Adams and the District Chief Medical Examiner Jason Graham. The newly identified victims are recognized as the 1,651st, 1,652nd, and 1,653rd individuals confirmed from the attacks.
