Firefighters pulled two men from a second-floor window after flames swept through a home at Linebrook Farm, a horse property at 383 Linebrook Road in Ipswich, Massachusetts, shortly before noon on Monday. Crews from Ipswich and neighboring Rowley reached the scene around 11:50 a.m. to find heavy fire at the front and rear of the two-story structure. One of the men was taken to Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport for treatment of smoke inhalation, while the other declined transport. Two additional people were evaluated at the scene, including one for a dog bite. No injuries were reported among the farm’s horses, and firefighters kept the blaze from spreading to a nearby barn. The two-alarm fire left the residence a total loss, according to Ipswich Fire Chief Paul Parisi. Investigators from the Ipswich Fire Department and the Massachusetts State Fire Marshal’s Office are examining the origin and cause of the blaze, which officials said does not appear suspicious.
