Traffic on two of Metro Boston’s busiest corridors was severely disrupted after separate incidents in Hopkinton and Framingham, according to local officials. In Hopkinton, a section of Main Street (Route 135) was closed on Wednesday afternoon when part of the former Hopkinton Drug building collapsed during demolition work around 2:45 p.m. Debris fell onto the sidewalk and into the roadway, reducing the thoroughfare to a single lane. Police said no injuries were reported. Early Thursday, all westbound lanes of the Massachusetts Turnpike were shut near mile marker 113.5 in Framingham after a tractor-trailer overturned at about 4:30 a.m. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation diverted traffic off I-90 between exits 111 and 117, warning that the closure could last several hours. Authorities also reported no injuries in the rollover. Motorists were urged to avoid both areas and expect delays as cleanup and structural assessments continued.
