Carrefour has announced plans to delist its Brazilian operation from the São Paulo Stock Exchange, with the process expected to be completed by June 2025. The company will pay approximately R$6 billion to finalize the privatization of its Brazilian subsidiary. Alexandre Bompard, Carrefour's CEO, stated that shareholders of the Brazilian unit have agreed that the buyout proposal is fair. Meanwhile, the Italian food retailer Eataly will cease its operations in Brazil, closing its location on Avenida Juscelino Kubitschek in São Paulo, which will be repurposed. These developments reflect notable changes in the Brazilian retail and food sectors.
