In the mining sector, Harmony Gold has agreed to purchase MAC Copper, a deal valued between $1.03 billion and $1.6 billion according to different sources, following an auction process. This acquisition is expected to allow Harmony Gold to expand its copper operations, while MAC Copper's leadership will be able to focus on other projects including rare earth elements in the United States.
