Venture capital investment in technology small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ireland reached a record €1.48 billion in 2024, according to the Irish Venture Capital Association (IVCA). This figure reflects a notable recovery in the sector, with private equity and venture capital-backed deal values increasing by 25% following two years of decline. Additionally, in Brazil, venture capital operations totaled R$ 9 billion in 2024, marking a 17% growth from the previous year. The number of Irish companies targeted by activist shareholders also doubled in 2024, indicating a shift in shareholder engagement within the market.
