
A gang of five Bulgarians, based in north London, has been convicted in the UK's largest ever benefit fraud case, falsely claiming £54 million in Universal Credit. The fraudulent activities funded a luxury lifestyle, including luxury cars, designer clothes, and expensive watches. The gang submitted around 6,000 bogus claims utilizing false and fake documents. This case marks the largest prosecution of its type in English legal history, involving a total of £53.9m.
