Eli Lilly has temporarily suspended deliveries of its weight-loss injection Mounjaro to the United Kingdom, saying the pause will remain in place until 1 September as it allocates limited supplies among pharmacies and private providers. The drugmaker said the measure is intended to prevent stockpiling and maintain patient access while distribution is recalibrated. The interruption comes days before a steep price rise takes effect. Eli Lilly will lift the official UK list price of Mounjaro by as much as 170%, taking the monthly cost of the 15 mg dose to £330 from £122. Lower-strength pens will also become more expensive. The company has linked the move to a broader effort to bring European prices closer to those in other regions. A confidential document seen by Sky News shows Lilly will soften the blow with a pharmacy rebate scheme. The programme will trim £83 off the highest dose, lowering the cash price to about £247.50 when the new list tariff starts next week, with smaller discounts on lower doses. Despite the planned concession, some UK pharmacies have already begun turning patients away amid tight supplies.
