Hollywood actor Will Ferrell has purchased a significant share in Leeds United, becoming a minority investor in the English Championship club, often referred to as a 'sleeping giant' of football. This move marks Ferrell's growing interest in English football, a passion that has led him to follow in the footsteps of other celebrities like Ryan Reynolds, who have also invested in football clubs. Ferrell, already a co-owner of LAFC, was reportedly influenced by his interactions with Reynolds and his involvement with Wrexham. His investment in Leeds United is part of a broader trend of celebrities engaging with sports franchises and he has joined the 49ers investment group.
