A former Fine Gael councillor has been sentenced to three years and three months in prison for laundering over €2.6 million through companies associated with Cyril 'Dublin Jimmy' McGuinness. The sentencing took place at Longford Circuit Court following a lengthy hearing. In a separate case, an individual operating an illegal 'dodgy box' TV streaming service received a 16-month jail term for possessing more than €900,000 in criminal proceeds from the operation. Additionally, a drug dealer was reported to have made nearly €350,000 from selling drugs from his home, while another was caught with £1,000 worth of drugs concealed in his pants.
