A series of ransomware cyberattacks have recently targeted healthcare and sports institutions in the UK and Italy. The NHS has reported a major cyber incident, compelling hospitals to revert to using pen and paper for operations. Concurrently, the INC Ransom group has claimed responsibility for a cyberattack on Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool, resulting in the theft of sensitive patient data, including donor reports and addresses. The Bologna Football Club 1909 also confirmed it was affected by a ransomware attack that compromised its cloud server and internal network. In another incident, the Hunters International ransomware group claimed to have breached Horsa, a leading ICT group, exfiltrating 57.3 GB of data, which includes sensitive corporate information. These incidents highlight the growing threat of cyberattacks on critical infrastructure, particularly in the healthcare sector.
