North Carolina’s regulated sportsbooks handled $433.18 million in wagers during June 2025, according to figures released by the North Carolina State Lottery Commission. The market generated $58.07 million in gross gaming revenue on a 13.4% hold—its second-strongest retention rate in the 16 months the state has reported results. The activity delivered $10.45 million in tax receipts to Raleigh. June’s handle was the largest reported by any state that has disclosed figures for the month so far, outpacing Montana’s $3.96 million. The latest results lifted North Carolina’s 2025 year-to-date handle to $3.45 billion, ranking the state eighth nationwide behind leaders such as New York at $11.29 billion and Illinois at $5.4 billion.
