Fortune magazine released its 2025 ranking of the 100 Most Powerful People in Business, the second edition of the annual list that spotlights executives shaping global commerce and technology. The publication evaluated 105 honorees this year — five pairs tied for positions — and found that influence is spreading beyond traditional monopolies into fast-growing, highly competitive sectors such as artificial intelligence, electric vehicles and renewable energy. Nvidia co-founder and chief executive Jensen Huang claimed the No. 1 spot, reflecting the chipmaker’s central role in powering AI applications. Microsoft’s Satya Nadella and Meta Platforms’ Mark Zuckerberg followed in second and third place, respectively. Rounding out the top 10 are Elon Musk of Tesla and SpaceX, BYD chair Wang Chuanfu, Alphabet chief Sundar Pichai, Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei, OpenAI chief Sam Altman, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon and General Motors CEO Mary Barra. Women account for 19 of the 105 people named, underscoring the persistent gender gap at senior corporate levels even as Fortune notes rising rivalry in fields from semiconductors to clean energy is redefining what constitutes power in business.
