By the closing bell, the indices had improved with $SPY up 0.42%, $QQQ up 0.38%, $DJI up 0.04%, and $IWM up 0.24%. However, the market opened on October 1 with declines across the board: $SPY down 0.35%, $QQQ down 0.29%, $DJI down 0.43%, and $IWM down 0.77%. The downward trend continued with the closing bell showing $SPY down 0.93%, $QQQ down 1.53%, $DJI down 0.41%, and $IWM down 1.46%. This marks the third consecutive month where the market opened the first trading day in the red, including August, September, and October.
