Johnny Depp has issued a warning to his fans about online scammers impersonating him using advanced technology, including artificial intelligence, to mimic his face and voice. The scammers create fake social media and email accounts, claiming to be Depp or his team, and solicit money or personal information from his supporters. Depp emphasized that neither he nor his team would ever request money or personal details and urged fans to be cautious. He clarified that he only maintains accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, and does not use platforms like Snapchat, Discord, or X. In a statement issued on January 6, Depp highlighted the dangers of AI-generated face and voice technology, which scammers exploit to deceive his fans. This warning follows reports of a fan losing $350,000 to scams involving his name. He assured fans that efforts are underway to combat these fraudulent activities.
