Lina Luaces, a 22-year-old model and niece of musicians Gloria and Emilio Estefan, was crowned Miss Universe Cuba 2025 during a gala at Milander Park in Hialeah, part of the Miami metropolitan area. The daughter of television host Lily Estefan earned the title after competing against 16 other contestants, receiving additional recognition as “Miss Prensa.” It is the second year in a row that Cuba’s representative has been selected from among candidates in the Cuban-American diaspora, following the country’s 57-year absence from the global Miss Universe competition. Luaces will now prepare to represent Cuba at the Miss Universe pageant scheduled for 21 November in Thailand.
