Two social-media personalities, Nina Santiago—known online as “Nina Unrated”—and Patrick Blackwood, were filming a food-review video at CuVee’s Culinary Creations in west Houston when an SUV crashed through the restaurant’s floor-to-ceiling windows at about 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16. The impact toppled their table and sent glass flying; both were taken to hospital with cuts that required stitches and staples but were released later that day. Owner Ivory Watkins said he had stepped away from the pair’s booth seconds before the collision. According to a preliminary report from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the driver thought the vehicle was in park and rolled forward into the building; no charges have been announced. The restaurant reopened the next day with temporary boards over the damaged frontage and additional vehicles positioned as barriers outside the window seats. Santiago and Blackwood, who routinely post their “daily eating show,” have cancelled upcoming collaborations while they recover. Watkins has apologised to patrons and is reviewing longer-term safety measures as the investigation continues.
