
The Chicago Board of Ethics has fined City Treasurer Melissa Conyears-Ervin $10,000 for firing top aides who alleged she misused taxpayer resources and pressured government workers to help political allies. The allegations were initially suppressed by the administration of Lori Lightfoot. Ethics leaders have also imposed an additional $10,000 fine on Conyears-Ervin for violating the government ethics ordinance by improperly using city resources.
