China's leading electric vehicle manufacturer, BYD, experienced a challenging first quarter, marked by its weakest profit growth since 2022 and the slowest revenue growth in nearly four years. Despite these challenges, BYD's earnings per share (EPS) and revenue still surpassed forecasts, with EPS for BYD Co Ltd-H at $0.2167 against a forecast of -$0.4611 and for BYD ADR at $0.4333 against -$0.9222. The revenue for both was reported at $17.24 billion, significantly higher than the expected $13.56 billion. This performance comes amidst a broader downturn in China's large factory sector and an ongoing price war in the automotive industry.
