China will lower retail fuel prices for the first time since July, the National Development and Reform Commission said. The regulator will cut the benchmark gasoline price by 180 yuan a tonne and diesel by 175 yuan a tonne. The adjustments take effect on 27 August and are part of the NDRC’s periodic review mechanism that aligns domestic fuel prices with international crude benchmarks. The reductions should ease transportation and industrial costs at a time when global oil prices remain volatile.
