In November 2024, China's disciplinary agencies reported a record number of punishments, with 27,996 individuals facing party or administrative sanctions. This figure represents a substantial increase since May of this year. Concurrently, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) announced that 28,327 cases of violations of the Central Eight Regulations were addressed nationwide. The Chinese government is also amending its Supervision Law to enhance supervisory procedures, allowing for extended investigation times for complex cases and implementing stronger human rights protections. Additionally, a new Anti-Money Laundering Law has been introduced, categorizing money laundering as a national security issue and broadening its scope to include offshore offenses affecting China. The Supreme People's Court noted a significant rise in judicial activity, with over 8.1 million new judgment documents published from January to November 2024, marking a 67.3% increase year-on-year.
