
China's securities regulator, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), has promoted Li Ming, previously the head of its law enforcement bureau, to the position of vice chairman. Li Ming replaces Fang Xinghai, who has reached retirement age. The appointment, announced on Tuesday and confirmed on the CSRC website, is part of the latest personnel changes at the top of the CSRC. According to four sources, Li Ming has extensive experience in law enforcement within the CSRC and is expected to strengthen efforts to tackle major violations such as market manipulation and insider trading.
