China's stock markets experienced a decline as the Shanghai Stock Exchange financing balance dropped by 4.695 billion yuan to 942.138 billion yuan, and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange financing balance fell by 7.499 billion yuan to 876.186 billion yuan. The total financing balance decreased by 12.194 billion yuan to 1.818 trillion yuan. The Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.62%, while the CSI 300 Index dropped more than 1%. The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong closed down 0.41% at 19,150.99, while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index fell 0.36% to 6,862.2. The Hang Seng Tech Index also fell more than 1%. Major stocks such as JD.com and Meituan slid over 3%, while BOC Hong Kong dropped nearly 5%. Automotive chemicals firm Lopal Tech surged 41% following its inclusion in the Southbound Stock Connect. Meanwhile, Tesla reported 16,700 insured vehicles in China last week, marking its strongest performance in Q4 so far. BYD led the EV market with 95,900 insurance registrations, followed by Tesla, Li Auto, and other Chinese EV makers.
