The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in Guizhou province, China, recently underwent a critical load-bearing test as part of its final preparations before opening later this year. The bridge, which will hold the record as the world's tallest, spans 2,890 meters with a main span of 1,420 meters and stands 625 meters above the river below. During the test, a convoy of 96 heavy-duty trucks weighing a combined total of approximately 3,360 metric tons drove across the bridge to verify its structural integrity. This milestone follows other notable engineering projects in China, including the Fuxing Bridge in Hangzhou and the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, both celebrated for their significance in modern infrastructure development.
