Shenzhen, a major tech hub in China, has announced plans to launch policies aimed at bolstering its humanoid robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) industries. This initiative includes financial incentives worth 4.5 billion yuan ($630 million) to support businesses and encourage innovation in the sector, with subsidies covering up to 60% of costs. The city is also establishing a 10 billion yuan ($1.39 billion) industry fund to focus on AI software, hardware, embodied intelligence, and database development. These measures aim to drive breakthroughs in key technologies, expand application scenarios, and enhance large-scale manufacturing capabilities. Shenzhen's efforts include scene-based subsidies and are part of a broader strategy to foster partnerships between industry, academia, and research institutions. The city already hosts over 2,600 AI companies and 34 robotics firms, with local companies like Ubtech playing a significant role in the sector's growth.
