Environmental groups have announced their intention to sue Canadian oil producer Suncor Energy for repeated air pollution violations at its Commerce City, Colorado refinery. The groups allege that Colorado has failed to regulate the refinery adequately, leading to ongoing emissions issues. The lawsuit will be filed under the US Clean Air Act. The groups filed notice of the lawsuit on June 5, 2024.
