Meteorologists expect another round of afternoon and evening thunderstorms across the Colorado Front Range on Friday, with the National Weather Service in Boulder warning that storms will be most numerous along and south of Interstate 70. Forecasters say pockets of heavy rain could drop more than an inch in isolated areas, while the cold air aloft may support small hail. Gusty winds are also possible. The unsettled pattern caps several days of scattered showers that kept temperatures comfortable in metro Denver. Humidity is predicted to fall after the frontal passage, setting up a notably drier and calmer stretch for the Labor Day weekend. Farther east, National Weather Service offices in Chicago and the Twin Cities anticipate largely dry, mild conditions through the holiday, with only brief, light showers possible. Highs in those regions are expected to stay near the upper-70s to around 80 degrees before a cooler turn next week.
It'll be a mostly nice end to the workweek but there is a chance for some isolated storms later. https://t.co/oOi1m7ZDyC
Scattered storms today, localized downpours/small hail. Beauty of a long weekend ahead. https://t.co/O4xMmnwPX1
There will be rain this morning in WI, with a few showers and storms again this afternoon in MN. Outside of these rain chances today and another chance for southwest MN on Sunday, the weather for this Labor Day weekend looks spectacularly boring. (which is good!) #mnwx #wiwx https://t.co/uddGUmLgEU
