A semitruck fire near Mead forced a full closure of the northbound lanes, while a beer truck caught fire farther south near the Del Camino interchange, adding to the delays. Later in the afternoon, authorities shut the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near Silverthorne because of a vehicle fire. Officials in both states advised motorists to expect extended delays while crews removed the damaged vehicles and inspected the roadways. No injuries were immediately reported.
