Air France-KLM reported strong fourth-quarter 2024 results, with revenues of €7.88 billion surpassing analysts' estimates of €7.74 billion. EBITDA for the quarter reached €1 billion, exceeding the forecasted €843.6 million. Despite the strong quarter, the group's annual net profit halved to €489 million, impacted by higher costs, including airport fees, maintenance, and salaries, as well as challenges such as reduced travel during the Paris Olympics, which caused a €250 million loss. Annual revenues increased by 4.8% to €31.5 billion, with an annual operating profit of €1.6 billion. The company has announced plans to increase seat capacity by 4-5% in 2025 and improve operating profit by at least €300 million. It also aims to capitalize on premium leisure demand, particularly from American travelers, and expand its luxury offerings. Transavia, its low-cost subsidiary, reported 8.3% growth, while KLM recorded an operating result of €416 million. Shares of Air France-KLM surged 16% following the earnings announcement.
