
Alibaba Group reported a 5% revenue increase, driven by investment gains, in its latest earnings report. The company's profit soared by 63% in the September quarter, attributed to strategic core business adjustments. Alibaba's cloud computing arm, Alibaba Cloud, saw a 7% revenue rise to CNY29.6 billion (USD4 billion) in the quarter ended September 30, excluding consolidated subsidiaries. The growth in Alibaba Cloud's revenue was supported by AI-related products. Alibaba has also been investing in AI for its cloud business, with its ModelScope platform being China's version of Huggingface, featuring 6.9 million developers and over 10,000 models. The AliCloud infrastructure supports more than 100,000 GPUs in its HPN7.0 architecture. The earnings report was released on November 15. Alibaba has continued to drop Qwen's inference cost.
