
Duolingo Surges as Q2 Beat Lifts 2025 Revenue Outlook to $1 Billion
Duolingo Inc. reported second-quarter fiscal 2025 revenue of $252.3 million, a 41% increase from a year earlier and ahead of analysts’ $240.7 million forecast. Diluted earnings rose to $0.91 a share, far above the $0.58 consensus, as subscription revenue climbed 46% to $211 million. The language-learning platform finished the quarter with 47.7 million daily active users, 128.3 million monthly active users and 10.9 million paid subscribers. Net income reached $44.8 million and free cash flow was $86.3 million. Bolstered by the results, the company raised its full-year outlook, projecting 2025 revenue of $1.011 billion to $1.019 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $288.1 million to $295.5 million. For the current quarter, Duolingo expects revenue of $257 million to $261 million, also above Wall Street estimates. Duolingo said it has acquired the team behind music-gaming startup NextBeat to accelerate development of its forthcoming music course, broadening the company’s push beyond language learning into other educational content. Shares of Duolingo gained about 23% in after-hours trading following the earnings release and upgraded guidance.
