Foxconn, the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer, reported an 8.59% year-on-year increase in October revenue, reaching NT$804.8 billion (approximately $25.2 billion). This growth marks the slowest sales increase since February and fell short of analysts' expectations of 15% growth for the fourth quarter. The slowdown is attributed to weaker demand for iPhones during the holiday season. In a related development, Apple has requested Foxconn to manufacture AI servers in Taiwan as part of its strategy to enhance its artificial intelligence capabilities. This move comes as Apple aims to compete with major players in the AI sector, including Microsoft, Amazon, and Google. However, Foxconn's production capacity is reportedly stretched due to high demand for Nvidia's GB200 AI servers, which may limit its ability to fulfill Apple's request.
