Heineken reported first-half adjusted operating profit of €2.03 billion, edging past analysts’ consensus of €2.01 billion. Organic net revenue for the six months rose 2.1%, also beating expectations of 1.34% as growth in emerging markets offset weaker demand in parts of Europe. Global beer volume fell 1.2% in the half and 0.4% in the second quarter, missing estimates after protracted pricing disputes with retailers in France, Spain and the Netherlands hurt sales. The brewer said volumes began to recover in June but cautioned that consumer headwinds could persist. Heineken maintained its full-year guidance for adjusted operating profit.
