
AT&T Inc. reported its first-quarter earnings for 2025, with adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.51, slightly missing the consensus estimate of $0.52. Revenue for the quarter reached $30.6 billion, surpassing the expected $30.38 billion. The company added 324,000 wireless postpaid phone net customers, exceeding the estimate of 253,528, and 290,000 wireless postpaid net customers, slightly above the estimate of 280,272. However, the postpaid phone-only churn rate was 0.83%, higher than the anticipated 0.75%. Mobility revenue was reported at $21.57 billion, above the estimate of $21.25 billion. Adjusted EBITDA for the quarter was $11.5 billion, and the company expects capital expenditures to be about $22 billion for the full year. AT&T also announced plans to resume share buybacks in the second quarter, with a goal of at least $3 billion in buybacks by the end of the year. For the full year 2025, AT&T provided guidance with adjusted EPS expected to be between $1.97 and $2.07, falling short of the consensus estimate of $2.09. The company's shares rose 3.60% in pre-market trading following the earnings release. Revenue for the quarter was up 2.0% year-over-year.
